Charlton boss Phil Parkinson has been named as League One's Manager of the Month for August. He wins the award after guiding the Addicks to five wins from five, including an impressive 4-0 away win against Tranmere at Prenton Park. Charlton beat Wycombe 3-2 on the opening day of the season, and wins against Hartlepool, Leyton Orient and Walsall preceded the rout at Tranmere. The Addicks netted 13 goals in August, and conceded only three in the process, giving them League One's best goal difference. Charlton were relegated from the Championship last season, and the award reflects an excellent start to the campaign which has seen them pull clear of the chasing pack alongside fellow promotion hopefuls Leeds United
